Raina has always been of the “work harder, not smarter” variety. When she was a kid growing up in the Pacific Northwest, her mom could be found pulling at her own hair as she chased Raina around, trying to shovel anything with caloric value into her daughter’s mouth. Raina wouldn’t stop running, climbing, and making up her own alphabets in the margins of her mother’s journals.

She ran all the way to upstate New York for college, where she majored in English, managed three clubs, and held down a part-time job.

After snagging her degree, Raina trekked back west, finding her place at a digital agency. What was supposed to be a summer gig as an admin assistant turned into a two and a half year stay where she folded into a small, multi-disciplinary team that wore every kind of hat.

By 2022, Raina was ready for a new start. She made her farewells and bought a one-way ticket to Europe, where she explored cafes and back-country trails while writing her own stories.

She still hasn’t stopped running full-speed towards her future—or making up her own worlds in the margins.
